Trades & Home Services

Marketing for tradies who want the good jobs, not just more jobs.

You don't need 40 leads a week. You need the right jobs, in your suburbs, at your prices, and a phone that rings when the ute's quiet. We build the engine that does it, and we run one tradie per trade per area.

Where tradies actually lose work

It's rarely the quality of the work. It's three quieter leaks:

The map. When someone searches "[your trade] [your suburb]", the three businesses in the map pack split most of the calls. If your Google Business Profile is thin and your reviews trail the bloke who's winning, you're invisible at the exact moment of the job.

The click. Competitors are paying Google for your suburb's searches right now. We measured live top-of-page ads on tradie marketing terms. Every unanswered day is jobs bought out from under you.

The phone. Ring your own number from a mate's phone at 4:30 on a weekday. Every call that rings out is a job that went to whoever answered. Missed-call text-back fixes most of it in an afternoon.

Area exclusivity

One plumber. One sparkie. One roofer. Per defined service area on paid lead generation, your suburbs named in the engagement. Once your patch is on our books, competitors get turned away.

What we run for trades

Google Business Profile & reviews
The map pack decides most local jobs. We optimise the profile properly and run a review system with scripts, because reviews are the scoreboard customers actually read.
Google Ads, suburb-targeted
Tight campaigns on your services and suburbs with disciplined negatives, landing pages per campaign, and spend that goes to Google untouched.
Service & suburb pages
One page per service per area you want to win. "Hot water repairs Belmont" is a different job to "blocked drains Torquay", Google agrees.
Intake fixes
Missed-call text-back, response-time discipline, quoting speed. The cheapest lead you'll ever buy is the one you stop losing.
Tracking to the job
Every enquiry source-tagged and followed to won or lost. You'll know your cost per job, not your cost per click.
Seasonal steering
Push cooling before summer, heating before winter, storm work when it hits. Budgets move with your trade's calendar, not a set-and-forget plan.

Which program?

Most tradies run Ascent (A$200K to A$2M): ads plus local SEO plus tracking to the signed job. One-man bands still building toward it start on Base Camp; multi-crew operations pushing past A$2M step into Summit.

Whichever band you're in: 90 days to build, then month-to-month. We earn it monthly or you walk.

Not for everyone

If the plan is maximum lead volume with no capacity to service it, or marketing with no call tracking, we're the wrong agency, and we'll say so on the call.

Tradie marketing, run one trade at a time.

Tradie marketing is a different job from marketing a shop. The buyer has a problem today, searches on a phone, calls the first business that looks real and answers, and never reads a blog. So the plan is built around that moment: a Google Business Profile that is complete and reviewed, a page for each service in each suburb you actually work, Google Ads on the searches that mean "come now", and a phone that gets answered or a form that gets a reply inside minutes. Everything else is decoration.

We run tradie marketing for one trade per service area, so the leads are yours and not shared with the plumber down the road. Every enquiry is tracked to the suburb and the service that produced it, which is how you find out that the bathroom renovation searches pay for the whole month and the tap repairs do not. From there the budget moves to the jobs you want more of. Lead generation for service businesses covers the tracking; the Google Ads management page covers the auction; the tradie lead generation guide covers what to do before you spend a dollar.

What it is not

A shared-leads platform, a directory listing, or a social media package. Those bring price shoppers.

Judged on

Booked jobs by suburb and service, from your own call and form records, every month.

Tradie lead generation and SEO for tradies.

Most tradie lead generation is bought from platforms that sell the same job to three or four businesses at once, so you pay to compete on price. Ours is built on your own Google Ads account, your own Google Business Profile and your own website, so every enquiry comes to you alone and keeps coming after the ad stops.

The lead generation side: Google Ads on the searches that mean the job is urgent, split by service and suburb, with call tracking and a missed call text back so an evening enquiry is still booked. The SEO for tradies side: one page per service per suburb you want work from, a Google Business Profile run like a page of the website, and a review habit built into the job so the map listing keeps climbing.

Tradie SEO takes a few months to show, Google Ads works inside the first week or two, which is why we run both and move the budget as the organic enquiries arrive. How many reviews it takes to be seen in Geelong is in our Geelong tradie Google reviews study. Trade by trade notes are in the guide to lead generation for tradies, and regional Victorian trades have their own pages, starting with Google Ads in Geelong and Ballarat.

We publish two client results, both read from inside the client’s own admin with their permission. Both are online stores. The method is the one we run for service businesses: track every enquiry to the booked job first, fix the page that converts, then put the budget behind what works.

Questions

What does marketing for a tradie cost?

Depends on your trade, your area and how contested it is. Most tradies run Ascent, and the exact monthly number gets stated plainly on the audit call, plus your ad spend, which goes to Google untouched. No mark-up, ever.

Do you really knock back my competitors?

Yes. One client per trade per defined service area on paid lead generation, your suburbs are listed in your engagement, and we check the register before quoting anyone. When your patch is taken, the next plumber who rings gets told exactly that.

I get all my work from word of mouth. Why bother?

Word of mouth is the best lead source there is, and the first thing people do with a referral is Google you. Six reviews against a competitor's sixty kills referrals silently. The engine's job is making sure your referrals survive the search.

How fast until the phone rings more?

Ads produce enquiries in days once tracking's in. The map and organic positions take months and keep paying after. That's why the program runs both at once.

I'm a one-man band under $200K. Too small?

Not too small, wrong program. Base Camp exists exactly for that stage: profile, reviews, one converting page, tracking. We'll tell you honestly when you're ready for ads, and when you're not.

How quickly can a tradie expect the phone to ring?

Google Ads produce enquiries in the first week or two once tracking is wired. Local SEO and reviews build over a quarter and then keep paying. We sequence ads first so the engine funds itself while the free channels grow.

What does tradie marketing cost?

Most trades we work with invest $1,200 to $3,000 a month plus ad spend, flat fee, set after the audit. The number that matters is cost per booked job, and it's on your report every month.

How does tradie lead generation work with you?

Google Ads on the searches that mean come now, a Google Business Profile that wins the map, and a page for each service in each suburb you want work from. Every call and form is tracked to the job and the suburb, so you can see which enquiries became booked work. The leads are yours alone, never resold or shared.

Is SEO for tradies worth it, or should we just run Google Ads?

Both, in that order. Google Ads produces calls inside the first week or two while SEO for tradies builds underneath: service pages, suburb pages and reviews that rank in the map and the organic results. After a few months the organic enquiries lower your cost per job, and the ads budget can drop back to the services that still need it.

What does tradie marketing include with you?

A complete Google Business Profile with a review habit, a page per service per suburb you work, Google Ads on the searches that mean come now, call and form tracking to the suburb and service, and a monthly report in booked jobs. One trade per service area, so the leads are not shared.

Is tradie marketing worth it for a one-person business?

Yes, if the calendar has room. A sole trader who owns their suburb on Google for two or three services can stay booked without a sales team. If you are already turning work away, the better spend is on raising prices and on the services you want more of, and we will say so on the audit call.

The tradie playbook, between jobs

Marketing for tradies fails for one reason more than any other: the phone rings and nobody can answer it from a roof. So the engine we run is built around how a trade business actually operates, not how an agency wishes it did.

Missed calls are the leak

Half the trades businesses we audit are paying for clicks and losing the calls. Before we scale anything we wire the catchment: call tracking, a missed-call text-back that books the job while you're on the tools, and a quote form that works one-handed on a phone at smoko.

Your suburbs, exclusively

We take one trade per service area, named in the agreement. Your competitors get turned away, which means every improvement we make to your campaigns compounds for you alone, not for whoever else the agency signed this month.

Reviews win jobs you never quoted

A tradie with 60 photographed, detailed reviews gets chosen before the cheapest quote, because trust is the product. The system is simple and relentless: job done, photo taken, review asked, every time. We build it so it runs without you thinking about it.

Count booked jobs, not leads

Leads are a vanity number, half of them are price-shoppers three suburbs out of range. Our reporting runs enquiry to booked job to invoice value, so you know what a job costs to win from each channel, and where next month's budget earns most.
