Shopify stores built to convert, not just look good.

Shopify web design and development for Australian brands. Fast, on-brand stores engineered around the buying decision, because a beautiful store with a 1.2% conversion rate is an expensive brochure.

In short

Sellevate designs and builds Shopify and Shopify Plus stores for Australian brands and then runs them, so the theme, apps and checkout are chosen for conversion and cost per order.

What’s included

Conversion-first design
Every layout decision traced to a buying objection. Hierarchy, trust signals, and a path to checkout that survives a distracted shopper on a phone on a tram.
Custom theme development
Built properly in Liquid, not stacked with fourteen apps that each add 400ms. Your store stays fast as it grows.
Speed engineering
Image pipelines, lazy loading, script discipline and Core Web Vitals. Speed is both a ranking factor and a conversion factor. You get paid twice for it.
Mobile-first build
The majority of Australian e-commerce traffic is mobile. We design there first and scale up, rather than shrinking a desktop layout and hoping.
Product & collection templates
Templates that merchandise properly, bundles, cross-sells, size guidance, review placement and stock urgency that’s honest.
Analytics wired from day one
Events, funnels and checkout tracking installed with the build, so the redesign can actually be judged against the old store.

Why most Shopify redesigns lose money

They’re judged on looks

A redesign signed off in a boardroom because it ‘feels premium’ is a coin flip. We set the conversion baseline before we touch anything, and measure after.

They’re built on apps

Every app is another script. Stores routinely carry a dozen and wonder why mobile takes six seconds. We build features into the theme where it matters.

They ignore the buying objection

People don’t abandon carts because the font was wrong. They abandon because shipping was unclear, sizing was risky, or trust was thin. Design answers objections.

They launch without measurement

If tracking goes in after launch, you never learn what the redesign did. Ours goes in first, so the before/after is real.

Two stores. Real numbers.

A store we run end to end: product pages and tracking first, then Google and Meta run against cost per order, then creative written for riders. The showroom sells through Shopify too, so this is the whole business.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a Shopify build take?

A focused conversion rebuild typically runs four to eight weeks depending on catalogue size and how much custom functionality is involved. We’ll scope it precisely on the audit call.

Can you improve our existing store instead of rebuilding?

Often that’s the smarter money. If the foundation is sound, targeted conversion work and speed fixes usually beat a full rebuild, and we’ll tell you when that’s the case.

Do you handle migrations?

Yes: WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and legacy platforms onto Shopify, with the URL and redirect discipline that keeps your existing SEO intact. Migrations are where rankings die if nobody maps them.

What does it cost?

It depends on catalogue size and functionality. Site builds start from A$3,500 and the exact number is stated plainly on the audit call, before any commitment.
