Case studies

Case studies, with the numbers left in.

The brands we build, run and grow, online stores and service businesses. Two carry figures read from the client’s own Shopify admin and published with permission. The rest show the work, and get their numbers the day the owner clears them.

Two results. Real numbers.

How we publish case studies.

A case study with a number on it has to show the client’s own screen, a stated date range, the comparison period and the client’s written permission. Tuff Gear and Koi Koi Inbox meet all four today.

The other case studies describe the work: what the business sells, what it needed, what we did and where it stands. Their figures go up on the same rules, once the owner clears them. We would rather show you two numbers you can check than twenty you cannot.

Most agency results pages run on logos and percentages. A percentage without a starting number is a magic trick: growth from A$1,000 a month to A$6,350 is 535%, and so is growth from A$100,000 to A$635,000. Every number on this page has the dollar figure, the dates and the screenshot beside it.

How we publish

The client’s own admin, a stated date range, the comparison period, and their written permission. If any of the four is missing, the number does not go on the site.

Service businesses

MyTechFix, Beyond Borders and Cloudwash show the service practice at work. The method is the same one: track every enquiry to the booked job, fix the page, then spend.

What we usually find in the first hour

01A Book Now button that leads to a dead pageSitewide, on a practice paying for Google Ads every day.
02Ads counting clicks as customersConversion tags firing on button presses and phone taps, so Google learns to buy the wrong clicks.
03Phone numbers a mobile cannot dialA header number formatted so that tapping it does nothing, on a business that lives on calls.

How to read an agency's results page, including this one

Most agency results pages, including some that outrank us today, run on percentages: 300% ROI, 535% revenue growth, 720% month on month. Here is the way we publish, and the way we would suggest you read anyone else.

Three numbers or it did not happen

Where the business started, where it got to, and over which dates. Every result on this page carries all three, in dollars, with the comparison period written on the screenshot itself.

Revenue, not traffic

You will not find a traffic chart or a ranking screenshot on this page. Traffic is an input. Rankings are an input. A business runs on what was sold or booked, so that is the scoreboard we keep. When an agency leads with impressions, sessions or ROAS, ask what happened to the bank balance.

The client’s screen, with permission

Results are published only with the client’s permission, and the figure shown is the one on the client’s own screen, not a rounded or annualised version of it. Where attribution flatters a channel, we say so beside the number.

What we ask of every agency, including ourselves

Baseline, timeframe, spend. Who did the work. How the fee is calculated. Whether media is marked up. What the exit looks like. If any of those answers is vague, the results page is a brochure. Ours are on the national practice page and on every program page, and the 90-day commitment sits in the footer of every page on this site.
